Mindset and Movement

With a background in dance and a deep understanding of the therapeutic power of movement, part of my work focuses on integrating embodied practices into the treatment of anxiety and OCD. Movement has the unique ability to bypass cognitive defenses, regulate the nervous system, and create new pathways for awareness, expression, and change.

My research and clinical focus centers on weaving movement into evidence-based approaches—particularly Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—to support emotional regulation, insight, and behavioral flexibility. This integrated approach offers individuals, couples, and families a somatic lens to explore communication patterns, coping strategies, and shared emotional experiences.

I'm in the process of creating experiential workshops for couples that include movement work. Focus will be on uncovering communication and coping styles, and discovering new ways to communicate and move through stressors together.

These workshops are designed to:

  • Uncover and better understand each partner’s communication and coping styles
  • Use movement to process relational dynamics and patterns
  • Learn congruent, embodied ways to communicate and respond to stress together
  • Build co-regulation skills to support each other through anxiety, OCD or other challenges

Whether as a supplement to ERP or as a stand-alone relational intervention, this approach invites couples to move through challenges with greater awareness, connection, and compassion.
